Review on ๐ŸŒ Cobra GPS 100: 1.1 Inch Navigator - Compact, Accurate GPS Navigation Device by Nick Ross

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Meet my expectations.

I bought this device to start caching. So far I've found it to be as accurate as any other brand provided I have a "clear view of the sky" as the manual states. I've checked its location on every cache I've found so far and it's usually within 2 or 3 meters. Assuming other geocachers use all sorts of brands, I think this is a pretty fair test. In doing so, I get to know the limits of the system of the family doctor's practice myself. I have a feeling some reviewers are blaming this device for these limitations (perhaps because its price is very "competitive"?). It's intuitive to use, I hardly had to look at the manual. The buttons are a bit stiff. I like the rubber on all corners of the case which allows it to bounce around in the glove box without hitting it. It's very waterproof. I got caught in heavy rain and it didn't leak. It took significantly longer than the manual's 50 seconds to resolve when I first turned it on, but once it "warmed up" everything was fine. Good batteries will last literally several days at a time if you are NOT using the backlight. The backlight seems to wear them out in minutes. I accidentally left my device in sleep mode on a coffee table for two days with a set of batteries that had lasted several hours during the day. They were "almost" flat after all this time. Not bad. Overall, this device met all my expectations and I recommend it for geocaching. Should be the most profitable division.
