I have a perfect tank! Water change 33% every month... The reason is that I take the purity of the water per month. It is tested weekly. The bad thing is that after less than a week this filter seems to lose its flow when I clean the filters, it hasn't accumulated much at all. bottom line. Do you have enough time to clean the filter once a week? And yes, it takes 30 to 45 minutes. Then definitely buy it! It does an exciting job when it flows. It is my opinion that if you are not overfeeding your fish and the plants are maintaining ideal ammonia, pH, hardness, nitrate and nitrite levels, the filter does NOT need to be cleaned weekly. I really have better things to do at the weekend. If you don't mind cleaning the tank, this is a really good product...just doesn't fit my lifestyle.
