Large size fits my 80lb Golden Retriever/Irish Setter mix snugly. He can't shake it off, but it's not strong enough to leave a mark. I think his biggest dislike is that it completely covers his adorable floppy ears, but he's fine with that until I stop paying attention and then I catch him trying to rip it off with my paw. I have to help him make it, but he's an old costumer and knows I'll help him when I stop taking pictures, so he doesn't try very hard. I could see a more violent dog tearing this thing to shreds. It's as warm as a human quality beanie and I suspect my dog will be delighted with this as he is about to experience his first winter in New Hampshire.
