In my opinion (IMO) the reason for many possibly well deserved bad reviews is the manufacturing of this bag. Foil bags are good with a zip top, however! DESIGN: Every bag I've bought had tiny holes on both sides of the bag (I immediately taped the sides shut). I thought it was a passing coincidence, but it's not. This is how a company (Sunshine) can fill foil bags and squeeze air out after sealing. The packaging shown in the description is not a foil bag for sale. PROBLEM: Cat food oxidizes (in air) in about 20 minutes and cats do/do not want to eat it. It is important that cat food is as airtight as possible. Common sense tells me that if air can get out, air can get in. This is unacceptable depending on where this product is stored, in addition to problems with oxidation, it can absorb odors such as perfumes, detergents and pesticides, or possible odors or contaminants stored nearby. I contacted the company to verify my results. They confirmed that the tiny holes on the sides of the bag are not a fault. INGREDIENTS NOTE: The ingredients in this product are changing so you will end up with a new formula: you may or may not need to go through a transition period depending on your cat. This item with the old ingredients is now Triumph Grain Free Chicken, Pea & Vegetable Cat Food (aka Sunshine Mills). I'm not saying the new ingredients are better or worse, it's up to you to decide if you need to switch. The last pack I just bought from Revain had the BEST USE BY DATE: JUNE 1ST 2018. I received it on the 18th and of course the cats won't eat it. In most cases, the date isn't a big issue, but with tiny holes in the bag, the food has gone bad. I don't blame Revane for not labeling those bags. A few packs I've bought other than Revain weren't date stamped at all.
