I don't really know where they were made but it doesn't matter - they are WELL made. I used a point to cut a pair of agate cabochons (it's a very hard mineral!) and it still works like new. There is a visual difference from the used one, but I think it's just a metallic coating peeling off the tips of the diamond - it has a slight green cast to it. I've been trying to save a few bucks by buying port freight or cheap Chinese imports and let me tell you, do yourself a favor and get this instead. I think the first part will take longer than the whole last sentence I had. Maybe there are better ones but for my money they are the best.
