I've been looking for the perfect garlic press for a long time. So common, but so important. Decades ago I found a good product that was a solid cast aluminum construction and worked well. Unfortunately the rivet attaching the handle to the base broke and I had to use a curved nail to hold it together. It worked, but it looked pretty pathetic. Models popped up along the way, but they didn't live up to this solid buy. There were also Rösle products. I bought a vegetable peeler which was solid and well built. So I decided to finally replace my old press with his version. It also had a "clear" option. This product convinces! Not only is it solidly built as a stainless steel press, but the amount of pressure I can put on the press is much better. he has a better mechanical advantage than my beloved eldest. In addition, the only cleaning option is to move the separating part of the press so that it is available for direct cleaning. This eliminates the difficulty of removing the remains of the fibrous part of the clove. The material can be easily rinsed off (or in some cases the material can simply be added to the pot if needed). The archaic attempts to clean the little holes in my old abs with a toothpick or needle just go away. Any residue stuck in the openings of the exposed part will be safely washed out in the dishwasher. Trust me, it's worth it if you use garlic regularly like we do. No more "god, should I add a carnation or two” decisions. It's that simple, you always make the right choice. While I'm not getting to the point where some say not to clean the clove, I at least cut off the end of the clove (and then you can leave the paper on the clove) before putting it in the press. I am a happy Rösle garlic presser!
