I just received this fan and I'm very impressed. I've never had a tower fan, but NYC gets pretty hot, and running the AC would be a killer for my bank account (thank you all for Consolidated Edison -__-), so I wanted a good fan. to make my bedroom cozy and that fits into the picture. As other reviews have mentioned, it's quiet and smooth, and it's true that it doesn't eject much air even at altitude, but the air that does exit is pretty cool. I actually felt cold with him on a low level, which surprised me. With proper placement, the vibrations can cover my entire bedroom (which is quite large). I also have an old fashioned window fan. When I turned it on and turned on the swing on it, the performance was comparable to an air conditioner, so I'm hooked! Setting up the stand was easy (and I'm a person who usually needs help getting EVERYTHING together) and the remote control is very convenient and easy to get used to. If there was one downside to buying it, it's that the turret can be a little wobbly despite its taut build. So if you have pets who like to play around with things, you need to put them in a secluded place.
