These steak knives are wonderfully sharp and are comfortable to hold. I like the ease of use and the individual guards work well but they don't have a mechanical lock to hold them down. Nonetheless, they stay in place well. Great little utility knife for opening boxes and cutting non-metallic objects. I liked them so much that I immediately bought a second set. Just remember that they are ceramic and can break as they are brittle. Avoid cutting metal, glass, stone or other hard surfaces. They aren't designed to change shape but seem to be holding up pretty well. 5 for $20, you can't go wrong.
