I bought this product with the intention of installing it on my dashboard and it worked great. I don't like the vent clips so can't comment on the effectiveness of this aspect, but the adhesive pad keeps the mount in place and is very solid. I was most concerned about the strength of the magnet and the holding power, but I've never dropped the phone. I also use a MagSafe compatible phone case, that probably helps. It also has a solid swivel range to adjust the phone to any angle you want. I cannot name any cons for this product. It works as described, works well and looks good. Most importantly, your phone stays in place regardless of the road surface.
