You must wear gloves
I have small pieces on my fingers and hands when assembling this. I think the poles are fiberglass. In any case, I had to bandage my fingers to get them out. Never got everyone out. My dogs won't be using it so it's outside. One day I will put on my gloves, take off the canopy and give the bed a good scrubbing. Maybe my dogs will want to lie on it afterwards.
