I have a Hymix P31 Gold and an Evo 970 Plus. Both are 500GB. far from Samsung in IOPS, almost reaching factory rating, while Samsung has about half of its IOPS requirements, especially reading IOPS. Another area where Hynix Evo far outperforms is speed. It runs much cooler as it's 20 degrees colder than Samsung. With a heatsink it hardly gets warm. Unfortunately, this doesn't work in any way on a Mac. This prevents the Mac from starting even if you have a working Mac drive installed. hynix causes kernel panics due to driver and firmware issues. I've tried everything and I'm sorry because I wanted to prefer Evo after comparing the two, but I want to use it for dual boot Windows and Mac and although it works fine in Win 10 it's not for Mac suitable. I've looked everywhere for firmware updates for Hynix because I have a limited window to try and then roll back. no fun. nobody mentions it, although Hynix has confirmed that it's not Mac compatible. They don't offer fixes. such a shame. There will likely be a firmware update, but I may have to return my B4. I won't leave it alone in the hope that Hynix will fix the issue later.
