Review on πŸ–¨οΈ Efficient Monochrome Printing with Xerox VersaLink B610/DN Printer - Amazon Dash Replenishment Ready! by Mitchell Norman

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Professional workgroup printer

Nicely packaged and easy to take out of the box – at least it would be if the instructions weren't in the box. (Note: Pull out all 4 plastic knobs near the bottom edge on each side of the box. This will reveal the outer cover, which can then be removed.) In particular, the basic setup of the Xerox VersaLink B610/DN was very easy for those who are generally familiar with laser printers. Peel off any strips of orange tape used to secure various parts during shipping, which were far fewer than most printers. Load and insert the paper tray, connect the power and network (or USB) cable, and you're good to go. When first turned on, the printer takes a good 5 minutes to check itself and be ready to use. You then need to make some basic adjustments via the color touch panel and you're ready to print. The printer drivers are on the included CD, which our Macs didn't need to use as the printer/scanner settings already had everything we needed. I assume that this applies to all later versions of Windows as well. The print quality was good, as always these days. The first thing you'll notice is how quickly the printer delivers the first page of a print job, and then each additional page. Very impressive! The duplex printing worked flawlessly. The supplied standard toner cartridge only lasts 10,300 pages. High capacity (25,900 pages) and ultra high capacity (46,700 pages) cartridges are also available. None is cheap! The toner cartridge is particularly easy to replace and appears to be designed to avoid spilling toner. Only the question of durability remains. The days when laser printers were built like tanks and cost at Department of Defense levels! - a long time ago. This Xerox looks decent, but some of the plastic parts probably need some care. It's worth noting that I chose this Xerox over another HP because HP's latest models have received poor user reviews for build quality. My initial rating for this Xerox is a cheap 4 star based on features, performance, price and perceived quality. . It may increase or decrease over time depending on how reliable it proves.
