I have the 128MB version of this product but both models are the same except for the memory size. The first thing that catches your eye is the size. Photos do not convey this. Like, it's really very small. We're talking 1 1/4 x 2 3/4 x 1/2 (inches). And it weighs almost nothing. There have been some negative reviews on this product but I think the negative reviews are what make this product what it is. You see, you have to think of this thing like a USB memory stick - it just plays music. One complaint was the lack of a display, but the display would only make it bigger. Another complaint was the lack of memory. If you turn it off, it starts over. Well, I suspect that the save feature eats up battery life. Another complaint is the lack of control. I mean how many checks do you need? It's so easy I got it working 10 minutes after opening the box, including uploading files. It seems cheap (plastic) but the controls work well and the only issues I've had is sometimes when you click to move up or down it can skip the track down. The fast forward is not audible, so hold the button and guess. Otherwise it works very well. Another feature that makes this product unique is that the memory module is detached from the battery compartment and plugged directly into the USB port. No drivers are required for Windows Me/2000/XP, but you must download the drivers provided if you are using Windows 98. I work on many computers and often need to transfer files from one to another. MuVo makes it easy. And by the way, if you put some MP3 files on it, you can listen to some tunes while going from one office to another. The sound quality depends on how good your MP3s and headphones are. I have a pair of Sonys that sound better than the ones that came with them, but not by much. And here's a tip: the free version of the software that came with your CDRW might not be able to rip 128K MP3 files (about the lowest quality that sounds decent). I've searched a bit and found a program called CDex that works pretty well to get decent quality MP3s off your CDs - and it's free! MuVo also has a repeat function. You press the button at the beginning of where you want playback to start and again at where you want it to end. While it's a lot of work when you want to hear the same track over and over again, it's perfect for any musician trying to learn a song. If you're looking for CD quality and lots of features, I suggest you skip the portable CD player. But if you want a very small MP3 player that sounds damn good and is also very small and light then this is a great product. By the way, everyone I showed it to was amazed by both the sound quality and the size.
