I bought this item as a switch for an alarm system that lets us know when the submersible well pump isn't keeping the tank full. I installed this device to turn on a siren and flasher installed in front of a shop between two houses. This puts it halfway between two houses that use the water system. This float valve was installed in the tank and adjusted to operate when the water level falls more than 4 inches below the lower limit of the main float switch. So when the water level drops below 2000 gallons we get a message. This all happened after the submersible pump failed and we didn't know about it until both houses ran out of water (around 11pm of course). Engine Alarm All circuits are rated at 110v just for convenience, but the current is very low so I was able to use a 22 ga 6 wire sprinkler control wire for a 30 foot distance to the installation site. I'm not sure how it ended, but I used a geared motor from an old item that ran about 2 RPM, modified a Korean War Air Force radio to make a camera, and used a microswitch from a broken timer to make a Make a circuit for turning the siren on and off with intervals of 2-4 seconds from the moment the noise became deafening (I did all the test work with headphones at the shooting range). The power indicator light is from another project and the switch is from a faulty starter battery/air pump.
