Review on New Nikon 18-105mm Vibration Reduction ๐Ÿ“ท Zoom Lens with Auto Focus for Nikon DSLRs by Avut Ball Jitrada (B แ Œ

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I expected mediocre quality, but the product was pleasantly surprised.

In general, the lens is not bad for its money, but the indicated breakdown left an extremely unpleasant aftertaste. The problem was solved by ordering the appropriate spare parts from China through "aliexpress". Pleased with their price - about 1 dollar. BUT what to do if it "crumbles" on a trip, and how many such replacements will survive everything else? And the replacement is not the easiest operation . Why does Nikon put a metal bayonet on a fix for 5 tyr and weighing 100 g, and I donโ€™t understand liquid plastic on a half-kilogram lens with a much higher cost .

Pros
  • Price. Good resolution and slight color aberrations. It feels like it draws about 15 MP. Focuses smartly. Color rendition is good. Covers almost the entire range of focal lengths required for everyday shooting.
Cons
  • There is only one drawback, but it is extremely significant - A very fragile mount. There are a lot of complaints on the Internet about its breakdown. There are even videos on how to replace it. Mine served for six months, and then it just โ€œfell offโ€ without hitting falls, etc.

Has some pros: universal in focal length, stabilizer, quite sharp for its class. Cons: It' it soaps up at 105, well, it's a bit dark 3.5 -5.6 - well, as they say - "What do you want" ? .

Has pros: Convenient focal lengths (I have it on the D300), sharp, high-quality materials and assembly, stabilizer. Cons below: The trunk extends, I would like f2.8
