I was trying to get my tank rid of this yellow discoloration. I did a 50% water change and it's still very yellow. I have set my skimmer to yellow every day so far. I ended up buying a Purigen and this charcoal and it cleared up within an hour. I poured it out of an old small canister filter. Purigen was there 1 day before I put everything in the canister. Cleaned up in an hour. Wonder. It's dissolved organics that could repair them. Getting it through the reactor really makes a difference. Happy with my purchase. Also it is worth the price
