Review on πŸ”₯ Stainless Steel Salton THP-528 Electric Double-Coil Cooking Range by Tyler Cash

Beautiful looks, useless controls

This hob replaced a solid surface unit that failed after three years. I was surprised at how light it is, but the rubber feet keep it stable. The stainless steel finish is clean and looks professional, but I suspect it will be difficult to keep clean since detachable coils require a screw to be removed first. I love that the hefty plug is grounded and there is an indicator to show it's plugged in. While the temperature controls are nice and tight but not harsh, temperatures are barely below red heat. At the lowest point the power fails it stays off, and at the slightest rise it warms up to red and stays there. It should be noted that the numbers on the dials are not exactly as drawn, but a green light indicates the burner is on.

Pros
  • I'm holding my fists
Cons
  • Dismal hardware
