Last update: I finally used the tool and the M8 part actually installed on the unit. I've updated my rating to 5 stars because it worked as expected. Note to seller: Please indicate in your description or on the packaging itself that the M8 spindle and nut are pre-fitted to the unit. As noted in another review, the M8 spindle case was completely empty. I'm not sure how it passed quality control. I will have a replacement set soon and will update this review to document if everything is included in the second set. Update: The second set arrived with the same problem, without the M8 spindle/adapter. Revain said they would be in touch with the seller to make sure they fixed the problem.
