Review on Crankbrothers 10000 Shoe Shields Black by Shawn Xayamonty

I bought these to replace completely worn out plates and also replaced the spike. Now the shoe is just resting on the spike and guard, and the sole is about 2-3mm above the pedal on each side of the mudguard. The shoes rock back and forth and put a strain on the knees. I put Gorilla Tape on the pedals to close the gap, but it's too soft going uphill. He also switched after several trips. I bought a plastic CB spacer for the pedals, but even the thickest one is not enough to close the gap. And a bike has SL pedals which are square bodied and don't match their spacers. I believe they are really just there to protect new boots. I am annoyed because I like these shoes very much, they are no longer made and new shoes are so expensive.
