NEVER WORKED: USB to VGA adapter

I ordered some accessories for my home office and this was just a version of several USB-C to DVI adapters I've bought. The first. arrived and the computer recognized the "monitor" but there was no video signal (no image on the monitor). I replaced the second one with the same result. Both units I ordered were defective and although the computer recognized that my Apple monitor was connected to my MacBook, there was no image on the monitor.
