This habitat for ants started out amazing. I read all the instructions and ended up paying almost $30 for live ants. On the second day they started digging BUT I woke up this morning and they all looked dead. I promise I haven't done anything crazy like not giving them fresh air, not letting them get cold or anything. I contacted the people I bought the ants from and they said there are many gel habitats that can actually kill ants. dr Milton's gel ant farm is reportedly a success. Well it turns out the ants weren't dead, they were all wrapped in a bunch of gel with less moisture because the blue gel acted like quicksand and a lot of the ants died. I put some paper towels in the habitat to keep them from sinking and they are fine now. I have a real sandy habitat and will return it as soon as possible. Do yourself a favor and buy yourself a real ant farm
