Total disappointment, the product is terrible.

Very astonished by the camera's overwhelmingly positive review score. When I first started having issues with the camera, I looked up solutions on the Samsung support forums. A month after using the phone, I was unprepared for the number of complaints I read, many of which focused on the camera, rage, and the want to smash the phone against the wall. Sadly, I experienced the same thing. This is a reasonably priced smartphone, however, for one, there are cheaper options, and, for two, the consumer shouldn't have to suffer through all the delays just because they paid less. As an aside, I'll say that the system is fairly slow; yet, this is a highly relative quality; what is fast for one person may seem slow to another. But. When the camera not only slows down, but delays the shot by one to two seconds, inevitably ruining the moment. If you are photographing a child, you will notice that after two seconds the subject blinks and the shot is no longer the same. The picture itself is of repulsive quality. Comparable to a 2 or 4 Megapixel camera (the lenses are rubbed, if anything). When you turn on the camera and press the shutter button, as usual, it doesn't merely hang; instead, the screen blinks and the camera "drops." Every now and then the video is recorded, and recently the extravaganza-phone itself arbitrarily cut off the video I shot, i.e. the filming continued on for x seconds, and when I checked the gallery there were only x + 4 seconds total. This is not the case because there is sufficient memory. Despite my prior Samsung a6's "so-so" camera quality, it performed faultlessly. For the simple reason that a decent camera is a must-have feature of any current smartphone, I cannot in good conscience suggest this particular model. Reading through the community discussion boards, I realized the magnitude of this issue. Indeed, I had to go into the camera and phone menus and reset everything. Not at all useful. Someone suggests getting in touch with a support team. But I, for one, can't go more than a day without my phone because of how dependent I am on it for work, passwords, and other settings. So I guess I'll keep hurting for a while. And the next time, go a kilometer around Samsung. Pardon the lengthy correspondence.

Pros
  • Design, visuals, and wallpaper
Cons
  • Camera! Camera! A 2.5-hour charging time is listed, not an hour.
