I bought 4 of these to build a pergola over my patio and needed an efficient way to mount my 6x6 poles to concrete. Firstly, when you buy these things, buy them as cheap as possible because they are just expensive everywhere and the prices of these things change depending on the weather when you can get them around $30 each or a little more. without delay! They're getting a lot more expensive and I'm cheap. FITS ME! The screw holes that go through 6 x 6, which is actually 5.5 x 5.5, are spaced 5/8 inch apart. If you buy screws that go through 6x6, they must be at least 6.5 inches long. to place the nut and washer on the other end. Next. The picture shows a 1" tall spacer plate, but it doesn't give you 1" of space for your mounting hardware despite the detail it says. There should only be a 3/4 inch gap between the bottom of the bracket and the top of the shim for your fastener to fit. I had to put in 5/8" wedge anchors and after I put in the bracket and wedge anchor there was only enough room for the washer that came with the heavy duty anchor and wedge anchor nut, all the extra bolts that come with the Anchors had to be ground down to keep the spacer plate from wobbling on the bolt. There wasn't enough room to use the washer that came with the wedge anchor, but you won't need it anyway. (but only if you are working with concrete). Also, the hole at the bottom of the screed is an obtuse angle, almost L-shaped. Again, the hole accommodates a 5/8" screw, and the L-shaped hole allows for fore and aft adjustment. There is enough room for a 3/4" screw, but you cannot adjust the base if necessary. The heavy-duty tie rod is made entirely of galvanized steel and is just over 1/8 inch thick, including the gasket and washer. /16" from the bottom. Another thing to note is that this is galvanized steel but it was post stamped so you can get rust out of the holes. I don't know how mine will go, What to say Unlike when you're threading bolts through a heavy tie rod, you probably want to put some kind of skirt around it so you don't have to look at unsightly details. It costs every penny.. Protect your investment and hedge it properly.. I give these 5 stars for functionality and they were delivered early.
