Review on πŸ”‘ Dorman 924-717 Ignition Lock Cylinder Review: Ideal Replacement for Ford/Lincoln/Mercury Models by Tyler Cooley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great for spares

Worked great, instructions were so-so but if you're like me watch a lot of instruction videos. I hooked up a new cylinder to my key and no problems, it took about a week. I have a 2004 F150 Lariat, I couldn't just poke the hole to clear the cylinder, I had to remove the top and bottom covers on the steering wheel and trim underneath, take out the screw holding the computer chip reader and remove the reader to get to the exit hole. I removed the cylinder and disassembled it according to the instructions, because of the wear and tear the numbers on the old parts of the toggle switch are difficult to read. If this is your first time I suggest going slow and methodical, off the TV and car talk radio, you don't want to mix things up. I probably spent 1.5 hours on this when I think next time it will be 20 minutes or so.
