Review on 🎶 Enhanced Retro Wood Record Player Speaker System with Bluetooth Compatibility - Pyle PTCD4BT by Jason Przystup

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Nice but not impressive sound quality

I bought this player to have better speakers than my laptop and phone and a place to listen to vinyl if desired. Unfortunately, there's no bass at all in this audio system (that's no exaggeration - there's clearly no built-in bass), and instead the sound is flat, tinny. My laptop, phone, and cheap computer speakers sound better than this $145 system. I also thought the center console was solid, but it's just plastic, including the plastic handles. To be fair, its plastic is a bit more durable than some other players I've looked at and it's not obvious unless you're using the buttons, but I've tried to find a quality music player that does is durable and can last for years. Years. Unfortunately, the aesthetics here are better than the build. However, it is a beautiful thing and the sound is ok. I just don't know if it's worth $145 for such average or below average sound quality. I'm listening to 1920s music on it now, which isn't bad as the quality is deliberately creaky and tinny. Either way, it's not a bad product, but given the price, I was hoping for something better. Maybe just connect other speakers and enjoy the system as a piece of furniture and as a record/CD/cassette rack. It's at least nice and made out of wood, which is harder to find on most modern turntables.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Almost never
