Review on 🔪 SKIL 75540: The Ultimate 4-3/8-Inch Carbide Flooring Blade by Tony Cole

I first looked at a few application videos and reviews. Overall it was described as pretty good but said it doesn't work well on 3/4 inch hardwood floors. Well, 3/4 hardwood is what I install most often, and instead of taking multiple tools to the site to get the job done, I just grabbed this one. This is a review from a real installer. I have been very happy with the saw and have had great results. I placed the saw in the corner of the study and it worked without any problems. Great product and I would recommend it and am planning to use it at my next job. Like I said, this is a real review from a real installer. The only downside is that this product ejects a lot of dust, the dust bag that comes with it doesn't catch much. However, I hooked up my shop vacuum and it was a game changer. When installing wood floors you want a very clean area and I have used a saw attached to a vacuum and had no problems. Each time I made about five cuts, I would turn off the vacuum and clean the area where I was cutting. Very simple and easy to do. I bought extra blades because I heard they were needed, but I've never had to change blades. I would also recommend cutting bottom up and taking your time. Cutting too fast will result in a jagged edge, cutting too slowly will leave burn marks on the wood. And my last honest recommendation is to use hearing protection. It's on the noisy side. Lightweight and easy to carry, easy to keep clean. For cutting notches, e.g. B. an L-notch in a workpiece, I first used scraps to figure out where the blade starts and marked my saw with a piece of tape and an arrow. The protection system does not let you see where the blade starts to cut. Overall this is a great product and I hope this review helps.
