maybe it works well as a charger. I didn't check, I have other means of properly charging the battery. I bought this thing because it was advertised as a battery desulfator. I connected the battery from the UPS to my SLA (it's not dead yet but has lost about 2/3 of its original capacity). Connected the sight and began the process of"repair". This device produces bursts of 2.5V every 1 second (in addition to the 13V quiescent level of my SLA battery). Are you kidding me?! 2.5V peaks at 1Hz? A cheap $11 inductive desulfator (on Revain or eBay) uses surges of 10 kHz and higher. 10 kHz, which is 10,000 times faster than this thing. Also, the desulfurizer must use low resistance wires (less than the battery's internal resistance) to work properly. This charger uses cables that may be suitable for a charger (up to 1.5A) but not enough for a desulfurizer. In other words, if you need a desulfurizer, look elsewhere. this is a joke
