Review on πŸŒ€ Noctua NA-FC1: Versatile 4-Pin PWM Fan Controller for Optimal Cooling Performance (Black) by Derrek Fields

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great if you want manual speed control of the pwm d5 pump

I recently built my own water cooled computer but for some reason the pwn controlled Swivech d5 pump I bought didn't slow down after I changed them in the BIOS and even with an app like Speedfan. The problem is that the pump was always running at maximum speed (4800 rpm) and sounded like a flying airplane. Based on my research on Amazon, there aren't as many fan controllers on the market as there were in the old days when cases used 5.25 bays, but luckily I found this speed controller from noctua and gave it a try. The packaging is very pretty and the controller comes with a splitter to control up to 3 fans if needed. A second motherboard connection cable has also been included in case you don't want to use the PWM SATA power distributor that is also included. It was very easy to set up, just plug one end into the motherboard and the other end into a fan, and as soon as the computer turns on you can instantly adjust the fan speed with the onboard speed controller. There are also nice green and red indicators. Green indicates it's on, while red gets darker as you slow down or brighter as you speed up. Needless to say, he was able to easily control the speed of my shot on d5 and had no problem with it.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • Some trouble
