This leveling base works as expected, but depending on the tripod shell, you may not have the full range of motion. This applies to all pumpable bases of this type. I gave this item three stars solely for its overall construction. Compared to other products from RRS, KES and FLM, it simply lacks workmanship and feel. The locking knob was a bit sharp and will wear down the finish on your 75mm bowl prematurely (in case you're worried). The same goes for any head you attach to the base. I've also never been a fan of metal set screws and would have liked to have used nylon head screws to secure the head.
