Next time I set it to 2 and it barely browned. The third time I used it, I toasted oatmeal bread. I set the dial to 2 because I wanted the toast to be quite light. He burned. After spending a little more time with this product, I learned to gradually adjust the knob to get a more even tan. It really is like that. much better than my first impression. I will change my star rating and rate better. Also let me comment on the style of the product, I like the lines, the chrome and the cream colored sides.
