Odd Dongle is the best in Computers & Accessories

Mine works well in normal configuration, like connecting directly to HDMI on a TV. But I wanted to connect it to my old Apple monitor which only has a DVI port when I use the HDMI to DVI adapter with my Galaxy S9 and my phone just turns off and immediately turns off and can't be used again a waste of $10. If anyone could help diagnose this issue I would be willing to upgrade to 4 stars.
