Perfect replacement for our broken original remote control. This remote control is identical to the standard remote control except for the backlit buttons and the button on the left to turn the backlight function on and off. When this feature is enabled, the backlight will turn on for a few seconds after each key press and turn off a few seconds after the last key press. This ensures that the batteries are not destroyed. Although it looks like it was built by the original remote manufacturer, it appears to be built a little better. As many have said, DirecTV should have done just that. Not the piece of junk he replaced. The backlight is strong enough to see well in daylight. Absolutely perfect at night! Personally, I will never buy a normal RC73 again.
