Review on 🛠️ Milescraft 1406 FeatherBoard: Optimized for Router Tables, Table Saws, and Fences by Brian Hrdlicka

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Not a total loss, but a few features

Normally works like a pen board. The indexing function of the index finger is decent, the pressure is quite moderate. The hold functions are shaky. They seem to work but are not very user friendly. Sliding and fine-tuning are cumbersome. Not sure why the curved track needs this shape; I suspect it's due to the material savings, but that makes it difficult with a slotted clip. Also, the track spacing resets a bit the farther you get away from the fingers, the tighter the clamp goes up, and this is where leverage is greatest (and nearing potential pivot point). I get a geometric layout. where the fingers are, but it seems straight splints would be more functional. The corner clamps are finicky, the countersunk, beveled head of the clamp thread bolt has small lugs that aren't big enough to maintain centering in the corner rail part and small enough to screw into the rails, again making the whole thing finicky. They also don't work well with the T-Bolts on my upgraded Craftsmen Saw Fence. A T-rail needs to be 2 or 3 inches taller to be useful. Other fences or custom fences will likely work better. You can get them, but I won't buy them again. They work best on my router table where I just clamp them.

Pros
  • Ergonomic handles prevent over-tightening and ensure non-slip release
Cons
