We have Linux at home and I bought my wife a new HP laptop for Christmas. The built-in Wi-Fi worked on Linux, but didn't recover when the laptop was put to sleep. It worked with an old USB WiFi EDIMAX I had, but the speed was slow. This device has kernel support for kernels 4.x and above, and when I use the 5GHz band it gets our full 100Mbps speed test (it used to be 10-12). I've tried several different USB devices in the past and all had to compile drivers that didn't want to be built against their core or the performance was only 50% faster than EDIMAX. This one just works!
