I thought it was a simple cable issue, but after trying a few cables and buying a new one, this monitor still doesn't display consistently. The slightest touch or movement of the HDMI cable will cause the monitor to stop displaying the image. I have to constantly fiddle with the cable to get it seated properly before it shows up. But even then, due to a slight bump, not everything works and I have to start shifting all over again. The really weird thing is that the monitor doesn't show when the cable is connected firmly and straight. The monitor is only displayed when the cable is half-disconnected and slightly bent down. Growing up in the 80's when it was common to fiddle with bunny ear antennas and blow into Nintendo cartridges, I can't help but go insane. But such an expensive thing shouldn't come out of the box with a defective port.
