My sons wear a size 12/14 but hate tight underwear. This is a constant struggle. The size XL fits him a little longer than he would like, but he wanted them to be a bit looser, so overall he's happy with the boxers. He actually wears them without complaining. Victory. For reference, he weighs 85 pounds 4 feet 10 inches. Would buy again.
