I bought this for two reasons: to protect my new iPad and to be able to support the iPad for video streaming and gaming. I would give 4 or 5 stars for protection. It's also a good grip. However, as a folio stand, this item is a complete failure for a number of reasons (I would give zero stars if I could). 1) The ribs that should hold the bottom of the screen are nowhere near deep or wide enough. It will only be in a PURE VERTICAL (90 degree) slot (which in this case is actually FOLDING). And only as long as there are no tremors in the city. Touch the screen and it crashes with a bang. 2) Even after our quick attempt to build a better edge to hold the screen, it collapses at the slightest provocation. NO GAMES. If I want to play in bed, I have to put a small pillow in the propped up corner, rendering the intended use of the folio useless. 3) Comb configuration - BACK and INVERTED. It would be great if I wanted to watch videos while hanging upside down, but I don't. 4) NO 360 degree rotation. The device goes in one direction and the case does NOT allow the device to rotate inside the case. For an iPad in a folio, the power cord must run to the RIGHT in landscape orientation. Is always. In this case, ONLY the power slot must be on the left when trying to use the useless folio grooves, causing my videos to INVERT. Forget the protrusions you see in the manufacturer photos. They must be at least 1/4 inch deeper and 1/2 inch wider to hold your device at any angle other than FLAT. Instead, turn everything upside down and fold the case down to keep the screen upright. It looks like you can hold it up to VIEW. However, if you really want to TOUCH the screen, you need both hands - one to hold the device you want to hold and the other to touch the screen. I want my old folio cases to fit this version of iPad and protect as well as I've come to expect from UAG. All have DEEP, WIDE creases that are correctly "circled" by the folio. They just didn't protect the iPad well when it fell out of a corner, so I got a new iPad. On fig. 1 shows how small the folio grooves are. On Fig. 2 These grooves are compared to a bookshelf that WORKS. On fig. Figure 3 shows how we learned to work as a folio at ONE angle. The tape on the folio grooves was our attempt to make a groove deep enough to HOLD. It did not work.
