Affordable enclosure with good thermal management

This NVMe SSD enclosure supports USB 3.1 Gen2 10Gb/s when using a USB-CC cable on a compatible device. It uses the JMicron JMS583 chipset and supports UASP and TRIM on Windows and Linux (I don't have a Mac so I can't test this). Although on some Linux versions I had to create a udev rule for TRIM (UASP was directly supported). The case gets quite hot during operation, but that's a good thing (that is, it pulls heat away from the drive). While thermal management seems adequate, it could be better. The case has an internal heatsink and thermal pad for the drive (which is good), but no direct connection of the heatsink to the outer shell of the case (which is not very good). However, I haven't had any thermal throttling issues with my Samsung PM961 drive, so it seems to be working (YMMV). I suppose you could add some thermal paste between the heatsink and case for better cooling if needed. This seems to be one of the best deals in the low price range. It includes USB type CC and CA cables, as well as a heatsink and thermal pad for the SSD. Some others include a thermal pad that needs to be bonded to the outer case, but once that happens you can't pull the SSD back out, which is why I prefer this design. There is a bright white activity LED that lights up and flashes when you turn it on. off during the activity. I wish it wouldn't stay on and just show activity, but that annoying behavior of always-on white or blue LEDs seems to be the industry standard now. Pesky LEDs aside, this case worked well for me, and when I ordered it, it was one of the cheapest NVMe cases available (couldn't justify spending more on the case than the SSD cost).
