Very impressive design!

This is probably my second review, but I felt compelled to tell you how impressed I am with this product. This is a high tech case to fit the SSD I removed from my broken Microsoft Surface 4 Pro computer. This enclosure properly holds the SSD and then ensures that the SSD does not touch the metal body of the enclosure with the original washer. This includes a large aluminum heatsink and thermal pad, and now I understand why; This baby is warm. Without a heatsink, I'm pretty sure my SSD would…

Works great: Computers and accessories

Bought because I had replaced an M.2 2230 drive with a 2280 drive and leaving the 2230 drive lying around seemed like a waste of time. This is one of the few products that supports NVMe in the 2230 form factor. The drive is fairly easy to assemble. I ended up with a few spare screws, but it all fits together nicely. Even a small screwdriver is included. The case gets a little warm during use. I believe this is a sign that the cooler is working. There are no complaints about the transfer speed…

Great NVME case!

This is a fantastic little adapter. I personally bought it for my Xbox One X to load big games faster. Some games may take more than 60 seconds to load from the built-in Xbox hard drive. After installing an SSD in this device and connecting it to my Xbox One, the same games load in 5-15 seconds! This is a huge time and frustration saver! It comes very well packaged, looks good and is very well made. It even includes a thermal pad to keep the heat away from the SSD. Overall I am very happy with…

Really fast and compact storage

I am using this case with a Silicon Power A60 1TB NVMe SSD. The SSD is rated at 2200MB/s read and 1600MB/s write, so not the fastest NVMe SSD, but this enclosure is limited to USB 3.1 Gen 2 10Gb/s (1000MB/s) speeds anyway, so you You can save some money by going for a cheap NVMe SSD. In CrystalDiskMark I actually read 986 MB/s and wrote 965 MB/s. When connected to a USB 3.1 Gen 1 5 Gb/s port, speeds dropped to 457 MB/s read and 443 MB/s write, as expected. When installing the SSD, one of the…

Works well except bezel won't attach

Works well except bezel won't attach. This makes it useless to travel with as it will fall apart. For home use, you either need to connect a special cable that you don't use for anything else, or be extremely careful when unplugging the cable so it doesn't fall apart. Tried both types of screws that came with the unit and the small oval front would not attach. Remember that you have to put everything together. Nothing complicated, it just takes time. Must handle the drive with kid gloves due to

Great for cloning Samsung drive with 3rd party software!

I have a very expensive MSI gaming laptop that I use for professional music production and I can make my own mods. I'm not an expert, but I have many years of real-world experience. However, I have decided to upgrade my primary OS SSD to the flagship Samsung 970 Pro NVMe M.2 (1TB). Obviously this will involve cloning the original drive to Samsung and in order not to make mistakes I did a lot of research. There are many USB sleeves available from Revain. like hundreds, and as far as I can tell…

Update - Still working great after 2+ years. Installed 3 different NVME disks and all worked fine. Works very well. The first step before assembly is to find bifocals or good reading glasses. It gets very hot under extreme stress (e.g. full format) which is good as the panel + heatsink + case removes heat from the nvme drive. It also cools down very quickly. With normal use, it probably never gets hot. This device is worth every euro! The update is still a great device, but older AMD…

Affordable enclosure with good thermal management

This NVMe SSD enclosure supports USB 3.1 Gen2 10Gb/s when using a USB-CC cable on a compatible device. It uses the JMicron JMS583 chipset and supports UASP and TRIM on Windows and Linux (I don't have a Mac so I can't test this). Although on some Linux versions I had to create a udev rule for TRIM (UASP was directly supported). The case gets quite hot during operation, but that's a good thing (that is, it pulls heat away from the drive). While thermal management seems adequate, it could be…
