Our old Garmin worked well, but there were no free updates. This model appeared to have a wider screen and as a bonus, it had free maps and traffic for life. Can't see traffic yet - maybe it's a setting I haven't found yet. The first time I used it, something was set with the word traffic, so I'm pretty sure it's enabled. Works similar to the old Garmin. I'm not 100% sure I like it, but it does more things to get used to. The screen is definitely more responsive, as is toggling between menus. Haven't tried searching by location yet. It's a bit inconvenient to have the mini-USB connector perpendicular to the back instead of attached to a mount like my old Garmin. When I take my Garmin for a walk or put it in my glove box, I now have to deal with three separate parts: the road antenna cable, the device itself, and the windshield mount. The windshield mount makes a solid impression. Removing the block from the mount was easier than I thought. Overall I thought it was a very good deal. When the traffic works, it can be very profitable!
