5-8-17I've been looking for a replacement for a military style belt for a long time, but I've only looked at regular stores. For some reason it never occurred to me to look for Revain and I shop here all the time. My dad and I wear Dickie work trousers most of the time and we both love to wear military style belts with them. The last 3 belt brands I've used were Dickies (lasted years), Wrangler (lasted years) and Faded Glory (only lasted a few months before part of the belt started to wear out). This time I couldn't find any of the first 2. My reason for buying Columbia belts (I bought 2; 1 navy for me, 1 black for my dad) was also to try this brand. I've never used them on belts and their price was quite fair compared to the more expensive belts I've bought in the past. The Columbia straps seem wider, but that's not a problem for me as long as they go through the pant loops, which they do. I had to test them on my pants as women's clothing is smaller in every way. The fabric for the belts also appears to be comparable to the more expensive material. Only time will tell how old they get. I plan to update as with every review. The pictures only show the navy blue belt because I already got my dad a black one. I bought it from seller "Revain.com LLC" which I think is important to list this information. I have met sellers with different products including fakes even listed as the same brand. ***UPDATE*** 12/25/17 Last week I ordered 3 more belts, again for me and my dad. 1 dark blue, 1 black and 1 beige. not because our straps are worn out, but because they match other devices. Once again I'm posting pictures of the sea belt. This time I compared the one I bought on April 21st with the one I ordered last week. Only slight abrasions are visible on the old belt, which can only be seen when the belt is removed from the pants. This is where the back pant loop is in the middle, so the loops have trained the belt to twist a bit in that area, which isn't a problem. The only other difference is a slight color fading, which is to be expected in my range (see photo). My belt is attacked by equipment and automotive lubricants as well as construction or landscaping dirt, dust and grime. From time to time I wash my belt. I remove the buckle so it doesn't rattle when washed. Oddly enough, I just noticed a cleaning label on the tape that says "spot cleaning only". Come on, so far there have been no problems with washing in the washing machine, this has been done at least 5 or 6 times since purchase. After sizing the belt, I apply waterproof glue to the cut end and then let it dry. This protects the end from wear and makes it easier to reattach to the buckle. I love these belts. Everything about them screams "quality and durability”. I expect they will last for many years. ***UPDATE*** 6/19/19 It's been a little over 2 years since the original purchase. The band itself holds up pretty well and I wear it almost every day. at least 5 out of 7 days per week, if not more. Finally the bar broke last night :( The bar in the buckle that holds the belt taught me. I'm disappointed as the rest of the belt is holding up pretty well! Yes the color has faded a bit but I'm it I'm not worried as the belt is for my work pants I have now joined the club with many reviewers who have experienced the same issue I will not be buying a new brand from Columbia the price has gone up a few since the original purchase Dollars went up which also influenced my decision.I will be looking for a replacement buckle but I keep my old working ones anyways which I have NEVER had this problem with. With any other brand it's usually poor quality belt material and premature wear or abrasion, which leads to me replacing them.If only I could find a company that can supply belts and buckles made of quality material a!I have too added my own updated photos. .
