I have had over 2 dozen fans all claiming air with unique designs of multiple fans, large fans, suction designs, blowers with an attached hood and move everything else in between. This large fan itself has good airflow and was able to keep my laptop moderately cool, but eventually it was really just moving air around my desk and not delivering sustained cold air (because longer sessions need to change the ambient temperature around the laptop. that has to happen, as the air is usually warmer and these fans only circulate the direct access air). The problem with ALL of them is that they use a USB connector that can only supply so much power to spin the fan that ALL are always underperforming, so I also have an AC Infinity Turbo Fan Power Adapter for USB fans of the MULTIFAN series Bought the series. This power supply is designed to improve fan performance. Infinite USB AC fans and it comes with a BIG DISCLAIMER that it will not be used with any other product it is not designed for so be careful! So for science I connected my thermaltake to turbofan USB booster as fan performance was ok. and it was important YES the fan wouldn't be much louder but would be noticeable at maximum setting with no booster but double the airflow for a small noise sacrifice. I was surprised at how much MORE power this gives the fan, which is now actively displacing a lot more ambient air and sucking in much colder air. This was my experience. limited by wattage and ambient temperature, but if you want to test it, try a booster (read the instructions on their website for limits, most fans on these coolers match) and enjoy
