Review on Sierra 18 3600 Sea Water Pump by Kyle Ahmed

I bought this pump to replace the original part after 20 years. The OEM part actually worked well and didn't leak at all, but got a bit rusty from 20 years of salt water etc so I thought it might be worth replacing with this one. Was particularly drawn to Sierra's product after reading their 'Industry Leading Warranty'. This product has failed after 3 seasons of minimal use. Leak at the end of the shaft attached to the flywheel that cannot be repaired. Called Sierra to inquire about the warranty and the tech told me he had this product in his boat and had been fine for 12 years but apparently mine was "out of order". I will not buy another part of Sierra. Buy OEM for 2% more and extend the lifespan of the product by 5 times.
