When the LED died in my freshwater aquarium I did a little research and ended up purchasing a NICREW Classic Gen 2 aquarium light The NICREW Dual Channel Light Timer works well, so i bought it too. It was a little strange setting it up, and you absolutely must read the instructions (not very intuitive, at least for me). You need to know exactly when to turn lights on and off and dim them as you make adjustments. I found that there wasn't much time between settings, so I had to adjust the settings quickly. But after it's set up, it works great! I like the feature where the light can be dimmed when it goes out and gradually come back on (instead of burning the fish with a bright light). It's also really cool that you can use the settings for both white and blue light. I would recommend it for use with a freshwater aquarium light.
