As other reviews have noted the hammer falls apart fairly easily. The suction device worked well, but it wasn't specifically designed for wood or anything like that. This is a glass sucker and this is stated on the device itself. If you look at glass suction cups, there is a high probability that you will find cheaper devices of the same quality without a hammer. Another problem is that there isn't really a flat part of the suction device to hit, so it marks your hammer.
