I'm trying on this belt right now. This seems like a great way to prevent cracking. I'll have to carry it with me for a while, but there's good rigidity without the thickness of the leather strap. I see it getting bigger over time. The velcro that holds the loose end is a little PITA to secure under the first belt loop, but this seems like a compromise for good stability. If you plan on wearing this with a Levi's 550s, the 1.5 inch width is the widest you'll want to try.
