Not even close to 0.5mm
Hemp fiber is amazing and I would love to use it to make hemp related leather goods but it is nowhere near 0.5mm. Compared to my 1mm thread, that's probably about 1.5mm. I can't even thread saddle needles with it. I think I'll need upholstery needles to use it. I'll keep it and maybe order some needles to use it with, but it's also very coarse and I think it'll probably be a nightmare to hand sew, let alone a machine. Hand waxing can be the solution to hand stitching.
