Prepare well to modify for steering accessories

You may need to modify this first, it's better to have some tools handy. I have Fanatec Clubsport V2.5 and Clubsport V3.0 pedals. The description says it fits all major brands of wheels and pedals. The wheel is bolted to the supplied plate, but the pedals are not. There are no mounting holes in the base of the pedal to mount these pedals and to make matters worse the holes drilled in the pedals are directly above the structural part of this stand so when you drill a new hole in the stand drill to install the pedals drill through the side of the square tubes on a stand. I had to drill brand new holes in my much nicer pedal set to install the pedals on this stand. In general, the design of the booth is of poor quality. The welds are bad. In particular, the wheel panel weld is so bad that the wheel panel does not sit exactly on one side. Parts made this way should be thrown in the trash and not in the box as it will affect the quality of the final product. The stand came almost assembled, I'm pretty sure I got the return unit as the whole stand was covered in dust and fingerprints that I noticed when assembling. When I took it out of the box, the pedal base was hanging awkwardly, a screw was missing. I found it in the box but not the nut. I had to use some nuts and bolts from my own stash to put this together. Some bolts and nuts in the pedal folding mechanism were not tightened. The nuts holding the top of the factory assembled stand were too tight, causing the stand's aluminum to bow inward. I added some shims to the base of the pedal as the aluminum finish doesn't match the aluminum frame properly. So if you tighten the screws without washers, you will end up bending the surface. The aluminum finish is pretty flimsy overall, I'm surprised they didn't use washers and tiny head screws. If you overtighten them, you can bend the skin. So I used washers there too. I ended up putting this together and it's probably stronger than what they ever planned for the factory, so I think it will work. Really big disappointment out of the box. Even a new one that clearly hasn't been used or returned will have some issues, get ready to modify a bit to make it really stable. In general, it's much easier than creating from scratch, but it takes a couple of hours, since it's quite impractical to work on it yourself.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
