Works as it should. Came in fairly easily on a 2002 Miata 1.8. I was in the middle of a clutch job and decided I didn't want to take the transmission out again if the fitted seal ever failed, so I bought this as preventative maintenance. I chose not to replace this thing as Mazda says by removing the entire oil pan and such. Instead, I simply took two coarse-threaded drywall screws, drilled very small holes (WARNING!) on either side of the old gasket, and carefully threaded the screws into those holes. Be careful not to hit any of the gasket faces and they will be golden and the old gasket will pop right out. Then a little fiddling and greasing and you'll have a new one in no time, just make sure it doesn't go any lower than the old one.
