I buy these annually and I love how they allow your foot to rotate and align on your pedals. I don't wear them out while riding, but while walking. For the price of a new set every year, I don't have to worry about clipping and unclipping my cleat covers while running in my cycling shoes. Boots wear out much faster. My last set only lasted about 6 months and when I checked my mileage it correlated with when I first looked at it and said it was a year old. In terms of functionality they are great but now I've broken down and bought a set of hiking boot covers. These things wear out as you walk and as your foot makes contact with the pavement, not from rubbing the pedals. I'm keeping my five star rating but remember these are consumables and plan to change them regularly.
